When first launched in 2010, the Giulietta achieved a maximum five-star Euro NCAP rating with an impressive 97% score for adult occupancy; however, because safety standards became much stricter over its long production life, its rating was later downgraded to three stars in 2017 due to a lack of modern active safety tech.
