Currently, the MG5 is fully imported (CBU) from Thailand. This allows it to benefit from established regional production quality while maintaining competitive pricing due to ASEAN trade agreements. There are currently no official plans announced for local assembly (CKD) of the petrol sedan in Malaysia.
