The Honda City RS e:HEV features Honda's intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid system. It operates in three modes: EV Drive (using only the electric motor at low speeds), Hybrid Drive (engine generates electricity for the motor at medium speeds), and Engine Drive (engine directly drives the wheels via a lock-up clutch at high speeds). The system automatically selects the most efficient mode for driving conditions, combining a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with two electric motors.
