To open the trunk of a Nissan Almera, there are a few ways to go about it, depending on the model year and trim level. For newer Almeras, like the N18 generation, the most straightforward method is using the trunk release button on the remote key fob – just hold it down and the trunk should pop open. If your ride has the smart key system, you can also hit the release button right on the trunk lid itself, usually near the license plate or around the trunk handle area.
Older models without electric release will need the good old-fashioned key-in-lock approach – just stick the key in the trunk lock and twist to unlock. One thing to note: some Almera models have an emergency release handle behind the rear center armrest, which lets you pop the trunk from inside in case of an emergency. It’s a pretty standard safety feature in most modern cars these days, and it’s there for peace of mind.
While we’re on the topic, it’s a good idea to check the trunk’s gas struts every now and then to make sure they’re still holding up – you want that trunk opening and closing smoothly, no sagging or sticking. If you ever run into a trunk that won’t open, start by checking the battery in your key fob or seeing if the lock cylinder is jammed. If that doesn’t fix it, your best bet is to swing by a Nissan authorized service center and let the pros take a look.
