The Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) system equipped in the 2025 Mazda CX-5 is a driving assistance feature that uses data from the forward-facing camera or navigation system to recognize road signs in real time and display them on the active driving display or instrument cluster. It primarily identifies common traffic signs such as speed limits, no-entry, and stop signs, aiming to help drivers avoid overlooking traffic rules. This system is deeply integrated with Mazda's i-ACTIVSENSE safety suite; for instance, when a speed limit sign is detected, it combines with the Speed Limit Assist function of radar cruise control to enhance driving safety. Notably, as a mid-cycle refresh model, the 2025 CX-5 retains the original 2.5-liter SkyActiv-G engine while slightly increasing its body dimensions, and comes standard with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch central control screen, providing a clearer human-machine interface for the TSR function. Although the hybrid version will not be launched until 2027, the current gasoline version has improved sign recognition accuracy through hardware upgrades, particularly enhancing performance under complex lighting conditions.
