The classification of fuel into six grades is mainly to adapt to the engine design requirements of different vehicles and meet environmental protection standards. Gasoline is classified by octane number into RON92, RON95, RON97, RON100, etc. The higher the octane number, the better it can address the knocking problem in high-compression-ratio engines. Therefore, high-performance vehicles usually opt for RON97 or RON100, while ordinary family cars can use RON95. Diesel, on the other hand, is categorized into Euro 2M and Euro 4M grades based on sulfur content standards. The low-sulfur Euro 4M diesel has a lower sulfur content, which effectively reduces sulfide emissions in exhaust gases and complies with the government's progressively stricter environmental regulations. This classification enables consumers to select the appropriate fuel according to the vehicle manual, ensuring both engine performance and longevity while balancing economic costs and environmental sustainability. It also supports the government's policy objectives of promoting cleaner fuels and meets the diverse needs of different vehicle models and usage scenarios.
