In contrast, fog lights feature a wider beam pattern and superior light penetration; their low mounting position and specific dispersion angles (5° vertically, 45° horizontally) effectively minimize light scatter in fog, while their yellow or white light sources (with a colour temperature of approximately 3000K) become critical when visibility drops below 200 meters. Such violations of traffic regulations could lead to penalty points and fines, while prolonged high-load operation may create circuit overheating hazards. On highways during severe weather (visibility <100 meters), position lamps and hazard warning lights must be engaged simultaneously, with strict adherence to controlled speed and following distance. While some vehicle designs integrate fog lights into headlight assemblies, standalone fog units maintain greater reliability in extreme weather scenarios.
