Whether a Japanese car is equipped with fog lights depends on the specific model and market configuration requirements; not all Japanese cars completely omit this function. Some economy models may not be equipped with front fog lights, but models exported to fog-prone regions usually retain this configuration. Fog lights are divided into front fog lights (yellow) and rear fog lights (red). The former are used to penetrate rain and fog to illuminate the road surface, while the latter serve as high-intensity warning signals. To activate them, you must first turn on the headlights or parking lights, then operate the fog lights via a knob or lever. It is important to note that excessive use of fog lights may distract other drivers, so they should only be used when visibility is below 100 meters. If the vehicle does not come with fog lights as standard, they can be retrofitted, provided they comply with the lighting safety standards of the Road Transport Department (JPJ).
