As a driving assistance feature, Lane Assist can monitor lane lines via sensors and automatically correct the direction or issue warnings when the vehicle deviates from the lane. However, its limitations may lead to potential safety hazards. If the system suddenly malfunctions or encounters complex road conditions (such as construction zones or sharp curves), the driver may cause an accident due to delayed reaction. Lane Assist is only an L1-L2 level function and cannot fully take over driving responsibilities. Drivers still need to keep both hands on the steering wheel and remain focused on the road conditions at all times. For example, some models may automatically disengage the intervention when the vehicle speed is below 60 km/h or the curve radius is too small, and the driver is prone to losing control if distracted in such situations. Therefore, the correct way to use Lane Assist is to treat it as a safety redundancy tool rather than a substitute for manual driving. Especially when driving at high speeds or on long journeys, it should be used in conjunction with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), while maintaining active observation and readiness to intervene.
