It is best to replace the oil every 5,000 to 7,000 kilometres or 6 months; the exact interval should be determined by consulting the vehicle manual, and may require shortening in high-temperature environments. As a locally produced product, Petronas 5W40 offers strong anti-wear properties, excellent cleaning performance, and cost-effectiveness (approximately 100 to 200 Malaysian Ringgit per bottle). It effectively combats oil film thinning caused by high temperatures and protects internal engine components. Note that new Japanese and Korean naturally aspirated vehicles may not be compatible with this oil as manufacturers typically recommend lower viscosity oils; forced usage may result in increased fuel consumption.
