There are various types of chips used in modern automobiles. Among them, the Engine Control Unit (ECU), as a core component, mainly relies on a Microcontroller Unit (MCU) as its computing centre, such as 32-bit or 64-bit automotive-grade MCUs. These chips need to meet the ISO 26262 functional safety standard (up to ASIL D level), have a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to +125°C), and strong anti-interference capabilities. The ECU also integrates memory (such as Flash ROM and RAM), input/output interfaces (for processing sensor signals and driving actuators), and communication modules (supporting protocols like CAN/LIN buses). In addition to MCUs, power driver chips, power management chips, and dedicated hardware accelerators (such as motor control PWM modules) are also key components. These chips work together to implement fuel injection control, emission optimization, and in-vehicle network communication, directly affecting vehicle performance and energy efficiency.
