Automotive Super Chip is a high-performance computing module designed specifically to meet the complex data processing needs of modern intelligent vehicles, such as autonomous driving, real-time road condition analysis, and in-vehicle infotainment systems. Taking the domestically developed MARS1000 as an example, as the first edge AI processor, it can be embedded in vehicle terminals to directly execute tasks such as image recognition and path planning, significantly enhancing response speed and privacy security. Automotive-grade chips must pass stringent certifications, including tests for high/low temperature resistance (-40℃ to 155℃) and electromagnetic interference immunity, ensuring a service life of 15 years or 200,000 kilometres. Current market supply is constrained by 8-inch wafer production capacity, but domestic companies are progressively reducing external dependence through technological upgrades. For instance, SkyeChip's IPO plan will advance design capability improvements, while the government's 25 billion ringgit industrial investment is accelerating the transition from packaging/OEM to innovative design. The application of such chips not only optimizes vehicle performance but also creates opportunities for Malaysia to engage in higher-value segments of the global semiconductor supply chain.
