Currently, SkyeChip, a Malaysian local enterprise, is a representative manufacturer with super chip R&D capabilities. Its MARS1000 edge AI chip, launched in 2025, adopts a 7nm process technology, is specifically designed for smart IoT and automotive terminals, and supports localized computing. Among them, Infineon's Kulim wafer fab is advancing the mass production of silicon carbide power chips, which are widely used in new energy vehicle electronic control systems. The local enterprise JSMSEMI focuses on the field of power management chips, and its high-efficiency synchronous rectification DC-DC boost chips can meet the high-power requirements of vehicles. As a global hub for semiconductor packaging and testing, Malaysia undertakes about 40% of the packaging and testing tasks for automotive-grade chips. The Penang industrial cluster gathers more than 50 international chip manufacturers, and this industrial ecosystem provides complete supply chain support for the manufacturing of super chips. The government has invested 25 billion ringgit through the "National Semiconductor Industry Strategy" to promote industrial upgrading, and policy dividends such as the Selangor Chip Design Park are accelerating the improvement of local high-end chip R&D capabilities.
