Car rearview mirrors are mainly divided into three categories: exterior rearview mirrors, interior rearview mirrors, and lower rearview mirrors. Based on the mirror structure, they can be classified into flat mirrors, convex mirrors, dual-curvature mirrors, and electronic rearview mirrors. Exterior rearview mirrors are located on both sides of the vehicle body and adopt a convex mirror design to expand the side and rear view, facilitating observation of traffic conditions when changing lanes or turning, but the image will be slightly distorted. Dual-curvature mirrors combine the advantages of flat and convex mirrors: the inner side maintains true imaging while the outer side expands the field of view, and they are commonly found in high-end models. Electronic rearview mirrors transmit images to the in-car display through cameras, performing excellently in rainy and foggy weather, but with higher costs. In addition, anti-glare rearview mirrors can automatically adjust to reduce the interference of high beams at night, and wide-angle mirrors are suitable for commercial vehicles to reduce blind spots. For example, the interior rearview mirror should place the horizon in the centre and not show the driver themselves; the left exterior rearview mirror needs to retain 1/4 of the vehicle body image, while the right one needs to retain 2/3 of the ground view to ensure safety. These designs collectively meet the all-round vision needs during driving.
