Turbocharging is a technology that enhances power output by recovering the energy from engine exhaust gases. When the engine is running, high-temperature exhaust gases drive the turbine to rotate at high speed, which in turn drives the compressor to compress external air and deliver it into the cylinders. This increases the air density entering the combustion chamber per unit time, allowing more fuel to be injected for more complete combustion. Consequently, power and torque are significantly improved without increasing the engine displacement. For example, a typical 1.5T engine can achieve performance levels comparable to a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine through turbocharging. Modern technologies such as twin-turbo systems optimize boost efficiency across different engine speeds by coordinating the operation of two turbochargers, while variable geometry turbos enhance low-speed response by adjusting the angle of guide vanes. Turbocharged engines require the use of high-temperature engine oil that meets specifications, along with regular maintenance of the intake system and cooling devices, to ensure long-term stable operation. This technology has been widely adopted in mainstream models in the domestic market and has become a key solution for balancing power performance with environmental requirements.
