What is lube maintenance?

Lube Maintenance is a key maintenance process for the lubrication system of mechanical components in vehicle maintenance, mainly including regular replacement of engine oil, transmission fluid, and lubrication of moving parts such as window tracks. As the "blood" of the engine, fully synthetic engine oil like Petronas Syntium 1000 SP C3 5W-30 (approximately 348 MYR for 4L) should be replaced every 5,000 to 7,000 kilometres. Its high-temperature stability and SP/C3 certification can reduce engine wear, and simultaneous replacement of the oil filter ensures lubrication efficiency. In addition, the high-temperature environment in Malaysia accelerates the aging of rubber components; using a dedicated window lubricant (such as a silicone-based spray, unit price ranging from approximately 0.68 to 3 MYR) can eliminate lifting and lowering noises and protect the sealing strips. Such maintenance reduces component friction loss through preventive care, extends vehicle lifespan, and improves fuel economy by about 5%-10%. The lubrication cycle of different vehicle models may be adjusted according to the manufacturer's recommendations or driving conditions; for example, frequent short-distance driving or high-temperature weather requires shortening the engine oil replacement interval.
