According to the *Guidelines for Electric Vehicle Charging Systems* issued by the Energy Commission of Malaysia, the installation of Level 2 chargers (Mode 3 AC charging) must be carried out by licensed electricians. Level 2 chargers require dedicated circuits, including miniature circuit breakers (MCB), residual current devices (RCD ≤ 30mA), and independent electric vehicle distribution boards (EVDB). Single-phase power supply (230V) supports a maximum power of 7kW, while three-phase power supply (400V) can be expanded to 22kW, but an application for power upgrade must be submitted to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in advance. It is best to choose SIRIM-certified smart chargers, with installation costs starting from approximately 2,150 Malaysian Ringgit, including on-site assessment, compliant wiring, and after-sales support. Charging pile operators are required to maintain equipment records regularly, and non-compliant operations may result in a maximum fine of 50,000 Malaysian Ringgit or revocation of the license.
