TSR (Traffic Sign Recognition) is a traffic sign recognition function in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). It captures and analyzes road traffic signs in real time through a front-facing camera, such as speed limits, no-overtaking or parking instructions, and displays the information on the instrument panel or head-up display to assist drivers in complying with traffic rules. In Malaysia, TSR can adapt to the local sign system (such as diamond-shaped warning signs and circular prohibition signs), and its recognition of speed limits and roundabout signs in particular can reduce the risk of violations caused by unfamiliarity with left-hand driving rules. If the camera is blocked or the system detects a fault (such as communication interruption or software error), TSR will automatically turn off and trigger a warning prompt to ensure functional safety. Some models also support dynamically adjusting the recognition logic according to vehicle speed or driving mode (such as off-road) to optimize system resource allocation.
