The two most common steering systems currently are the Electric Power Steering (EPS) and the Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS). The EPS provides steering assistance directly through an electric motor, featuring a compact structure, low energy consumption, and responsive performance. The EHPS, on the other hand, combines the smoothness of hydraulic assistance with the precision of electronic control. It replaces the traditional mechanical hydraulic pump with an electric pump and dynamically adjusts oil pressure according to driving conditions, reducing energy consumption while retaining road feedback. It is commonly found in mid-to-high-end models that emphasize handling experience. Among them, EPS is becoming the mainstream configuration due to its maintenance-free nature (no need for hydraulic oil) and outstanding energy-saving advantages, while EHPS is still applied in some models that have higher requirements for steering road feel.
