Can I use water instead of coolant?

Normally, it is not recommended to use water instead of car coolant. In contrast, dedicated coolant typically has a boiling point exceeding 105°C, which can more effectively prevent the engine from overheating. Using it year-round can protect the engine's normal operation in different environments. If coolant is insufficient in an emergency, distilled water can be temporarily added as an emergency measure, but it is necessary to replace it with regular coolant as soon as possible to avoid engine block rust or water channel blockage caused by long-term use of water. It is best to replace the coolant once a year and ensure that the liquid level is within the scale range to maintain the optimal performance of the cooling system. Regular maintenance of the cooling system not only extends the engine's service life but also avoids high-temperature failures caused by poor heat dissipation.
