Will JB Weld work on exhaust?

JB Weld's specialized Exhaust System Sealant can be used for temporary repairs of exhaust pipes. It withstands high temperatures up to approximately 982°C (1800°F), making it suitable for sealing gaps, smoothing joints, or pipe connections. It cures in about 30 minutes without shrinking. Note that standard JB Weld epoxy resins (e.g., Original Cold-Weld) are only heat-resistant up to 260°C (500°F) and should not be used in high-temperature engine-adjacent areas (such as exhaust manifolds) to avoid failure or combustion risks. Exhaust leaks may cause emission test failures and engine performance issues, requiring prompt attention. Severe leaks warrant professional welding or exhaust pipe replacement to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
