The most common blind spots of a vehicle are the rearview mirror blind spots, i.e., the areas that cannot be fully covered by the rearview mirrors on both sides of the vehicle body. These areas are especially prone to causing drivers to overlook vehicles approaching from the side or rear when changing lanes or overtaking. Specifically, the A-pillars mainly affect the observation of pedestrians or non-motorized vehicles when turning left, while the B-pillars may obstruct the view of oncoming vehicles when making a sharp right turn. Special attention should also be paid to the front blind spot 1-2 meters ahead of the vehicle and the rear blind spot 3-5 meters behind the vehicle, as these areas may hide low obstacles or pedestrians. Installing a blind spot monitoring system or small round mirrors can further enhance safety, but the most fundamental measures are still maintaining speed control and awareness of dynamic observation.
