Modern cars generally adopt a four-wheel braking system, which evenly distributes braking force to all wheels via hydraulic or pneumatic pressure to ensure stability. This design can prevent vehicle loss of control caused by single-wheel braking, and when combined with the ABS anti-lock braking system, it can prevent wheel lock-up during emergency braking. The front wheels usually bear about 70% of the braking force. This is because the vehicle's centre of gravity shifts forward during braking, requiring the front wheels to provide stronger braking force, while the rear wheels mainly maintain vehicle balance. Regularly checking the water content of brake fluid (it is recommended not to exceed 3%) and the thickness of brake pads (not less than 3mm) is the key to ensuring braking efficiency. If a significant increase in braking distance or a soft pedal is noticed, professional inspection should be carried out immediately.
