The brake system mainly consists of six basic components: the brake pedal, brake master cylinder and booster, brake lines, brake wheel cylinders, brakes, and brake fluid. The brake pedal is the direct operating component for the driver to apply braking force, amplifying the pedal force through the principle of leverage. The brake master cylinder and booster convert the pedal force into hydraulic pressure, with the vacuum booster using engine negative pressure to enhance braking force. Brakes are divided into two types: disc brakes and drum brakes. Disc brakes generate friction by clamping the brake disc with a caliper, while drum brakes achieve braking by friction between the brake shoes and the brake drum. As a hydraulic medium, brake fluid must have high-temperature resistance and moisture absorption resistance properties, and it is usually replaced every two years or 40,000 kilometres. Modern vehicles are also commonly equipped with electronic auxiliary devices such as the ABS anti-lock braking system, but the core mechanical structure is still based on these six components. Regularly checking the thickness of brake pads (It is best to be no less than 3mm), the condition of brake fluid, and the sealing of brake lines is the key to ensuring braking efficiency. Especially in the rainy season, attention should be paid to whether the water content in the brake fluid exceeds the standard.
