While the 100% import/excise duty exemption for CBU EVs ended in 2025, the Malaysian government continues to support CKD (locally assembled) EVs through various tax breaks for manufacturers to keep prices low. Additionally, individual income tax relief for EV charging facility expenses (up to RM2,500) has been extended, which Air EV owners can still claim.
