Fuel prices drop: Unsubsidised RON95, RON97 and diesel all decrease by 5 sen from August 6-August 12

Motorists paying market prices for fuel will not need to dig a little deeper this week, with the Ministry of Finance announcing a 5 sen per litre decrease  across unsubsidised RON95, RON97 and diesel for the period of August 6 to August 12.

The latest revision sees RON97 drops from RM4.40 to RM4.35 per litre, while unsubsidised RON95 drops from RM3.82 to RM3.77 per litre. Meanwhile, diesel in Peninsular Malaysia decreases from RM4.62 to RM4.57 per litre.

Subsidised fuel prices remain untouched.

Eligible Malaysians under the BUDI95 programme will continue to pay RM1.99 per litre for RON95, while BUDI Diesel stays at RM2.10 per litre. Prices under the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) and Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) also remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively.

The latest adjustment follows the government's weekly Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), which tracks movements in international fuel prices. Earlier this month, the Ministry of Finance attributed previous increases in unsubsidised fuel prices to heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and rising global crude oil prices.

For motorists using premium fuels or those not eligible for subsidies, this week's revision means a 50-litre fill-up now costs RM2.5 less than it did last week.
