Fuel prices hike: Unsubsidised RON95, RON97 and diesel all increase by 35 sen from September 17 - September 23, 2026.

Motorists paying market prices for fuel will need to dig much deeper tomorrow, with the Ministry of Finance announcing a 35 sen per litre increase across unsubsidised RON95, RON97 and diesel for the period of September 17 to 23.

The latest revision sees RON97 hikes from RM4.50 to RM4.85 per litre, while unsubsidised RON95 hikes from RM4.02 to RM4.37 per litre. Meanwhile, diesel in Peninsular Malaysia decreases from RM4.92 to RM5.27 per litre.

Subsidised fuel prices remain untouched.

Eligible Malaysians under the BUDI95 programme will continue to pay RM1.99 per litre for RON95, while BUDI Diesel stays at RM2.10 per litre. Prices under the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) and Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) also remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively.

The latest adjustment follows the government's weekly Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), which tracks movements in international fuel prices.

For motorists using premium fuels or those who are not eligible for subsidies, this week's revision means a 50 litre fill up now costs RM17.50 more than it did last week.
