Chery Malaysia Partners Lee Chong Wei Cup to Boost Grassroots Badminton

Chery Malaysia has become the official partner of the inaugural Lee Chong Wei Cup (LCWC) – a new youth badminton tournament launched by national icon Dato’ Seri Lee Chong Wei. This collaboration continues Chery’s support for local sports development, following previous backing for Olympic medallists and national athletes.

Supported by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), the Lee Chong Wei Cup focuses on junior talent across U13, U15 and U17 age groups, featuring all five individual badminton disciplines. The tournament targets up to 3,200 young players with a total prize pool of RM100,000, making it one of Malaysia’s most valuable youth badminton events.

As an added incentive, category champions will earn a trial spot at Academy Badminton Malaysia – a key pathway to national-level training.

Chery Malaysia Vice President Lee Wen Hsiang said the brand is committed to nurturing young sports talent and strengthening community programmes. The tournament serves as a major platform to discover future national shuttlers and grow grassroots badminton in Malaysia.
