Just three months after its Malaysian introduction, the all-new Proton Saga MC3 has officially launched in Brunei as its first export destination—offered in two variants, the Executive and Premium, priced at BND16,800 (approx. RM52,000) and BND18,800 (approx RM58,000) respectively. It is also the second Proton model introduced in Brunei this year, following the Proton X50 in January.

Edmund Lim Meng Thong, CEO of Proton International Corporation (PICSB), stated that the Brunei launch underscores Proton’s plan to strengthen its foothold in the entry-level segment across ASEAN. He added that by using Proton’s in-house AMA platform, the company aims to capture a larger share of the regional market and push its export-driven strategy.

The Saga MC3 remains a core model for Proton’s global ambitions. The carmaker targets overseas sales to make up 30% of its total volume by 2030, with plans to enter at least 32 markets worldwide.

At home in Malaysia, demand has been strong: more than 20,000 units have been registered since its debut, solidifying its position as one of Proton’s highest-volume models.

The Saga MC3 is a practical, affordable compact sedan designed for daily use, targeting budget-conscious buyers, families, and first-time car owners. It offers reliable performance, low running costs, and Proton’s latest in-house platform and build quality.
