MG4 EV Reaches 100,000 Units Milestone – A Global Hit with Strong Malaysian Appeal

MG's star electric model, the MG4 EV, has once again achieved a major milestone. Recently, the 100,000th unit of the MG4 rolled off the production line at SAIC Motor's Nanjing plant. As the pioneer of MG's global new energy offensive, this achievement not only highlights the brand's strong production and delivery capabilities but also reflects the model's widespread international acclaim.

Consistent Strong Sales: A True Global Performer

Since its launch, the MG4 has taken the world by storm with its distinctive hot hatch styling and engaging rear-wheel-drive dynamics. According to the latest data, global sales of the MG4 exceeded 13,000 units last month, marking seven consecutive months of sales surpassing 10,000 units.

In Malaysia, since its official introduction in 2024, the MG4 has become a favourite among local EV buyers who value personality and driving fun. Built on the MSP (Modular Scalable Platform), it boasts a near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution and has earned a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

Malaysian Market Perspective

As competition in Malaysia's electric vehicle segment intensifies — with rivals such as the BYD Dolphin and Proton e.MAS 5 — the MG4 continues to stand out with its sporty rear-wheel-drive handling. Unlike many commuter-focused EVs, the MG4 delivers a more agile and engaging driving experience.

With the 100,000th unit now produced, the model's supply chain and after-sales parts availability are expected to become even more robust. For Malaysian buyers still considering their first EV, this milestone serves as a strong vote of confidence in the MG4.
