Proton eMas 5 breaches 5,000 units in 2 months, dominates Malaysia’s EV market

The Proton eMAS 5 has hit a major milestone, surpassing 5,000 units sold just two months after its official launch in the Malaysian market. The model recorded 3,026 units in January 2026 and 1,562 units in February, with additional deliveries pushing total sales past the 5,000-unit mark.

Last month, the eMAS 5 alone accounted for the majority of Proton eMaS’ total sales of 1,928 units, solidifying its position as the best-selling electric vehicle in Malaysia.

According to Pro-Net, the brand managing Proton eMAS, this achievement is unmatched by any other EV brand in Malaysia within a similar timeframe. The eMAS 5 is not only No.1 in the EV segment for February 2026 and year-to-date, but also ranks 5th overall among all passenger vehicles including petrol-powered models.

Pro-Net CEO Zhang Qiang stated, “Surpassing 5,000 deliveries in just two months, plus over 3,500 bookings for the eMAS 7 PHEV in just one and a half months, shows Malaysians are quickly adopting electrified vehicles. These results confirm our strategy of offering practical, good-value electrified solutions built for the local market.”
