Denza, BYD's high-end luxury sub-brand, has achieved a significant milestone in the Chinese market. The brand has officially rolled out its 500,000th vehicle. This historic unit is the all-new Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition, a premium 3-row, 6-seater flagship SUV that was just launched locally. The new model officially went on sale in China on May 18.
The Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition is available in three variants (Flash Charge Premium, Flash Charge Exquisite, and Flash Charge Flagship), with official guide prices ranging from RMB 409,800 to RMB 469,800 (approximately RM267,800 to RM307,000). As an upgraded flagship, the biggest highlight is that the entire range comes standard with BYD's latest second-generation Blade Battery and ultra-fast "Flash Charge" technology, setting a new benchmark in the high-end luxury SUV segment.

As a large plug-in hybrid electric SUV, the Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition is equipped with a high-capacity second-generation Blade Battery of up to 75.3 kWh:
The most impressive feature is its ultra-fast charging capability. The official claim is a groundbreaking "ready in 5 minutes, fully charged in 9 minutes" (10% to 97% in just 9 minutes). This means you can grab a cup of coffee at a highway rest area and return to a fully charged vehicle. Even in extreme low temperatures of minus 30°C, the system only slows down by 3 minutes.

In terms of power and chassis technology, the Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition is equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine paired with a tri-motor all-wheel-drive layout of one in the front and two in the rear (e³ technology platform), with a combined output power reaching 680 kW and a maximum torque of 1,035 Nm. Its 0-100 km/h acceleration takes only 3.7 seconds, and its 100-kilometer braking distance is also only 36.4 meters.
Thanks to the e³ tri-motor independent drive and rear-wheel dual-motor independent steering technology (rear-wheel steering angle up to 20°), this full-size SUV possesses extremely agile driving control performance:
Turning radius: Only 4.65 meters, its turning flexibility even surpasses some compact hatchbacks (like the BMW MINI), making it very easy to drive on narrow city roads or in shopping mall car parks.
Driving modes: Supports Crab Walk, Compass U-turn, and rain/snow toe-in mode, ensuring it remains stable and does not slip on slippery roads or when driving at high speeds of 120 km/h.
In addition, the new car comes standard across the entire lineup with the DiSus-A closed dual-chamber air suspension system combined with Road Preview 2.0 intelligent chassis, which can adjust the height, stiffness, and damping of the suspension. It can not only achieve "no nose-up during startup and no nose-dive during braking", but is also equipped with an "anti-dizziness intelligent motion sickness prevention system", greatly improving the ride comfort for rear passengers. In terms of safety, the new car previously received the highest rating in the history of C-IASI in the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI) 2025 assessment, with high-strength steel and aluminum alloy accounting for up to 90.5% of the entire vehicle.

The Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition continues the grand “indomitable” design language of Denza’s flagship SUVs, with dimensions of 5,258 mm × 2,030 mm × 1,830 mm and a 3,125 mm wheelbase. It rides on exclusive 22-inch mirror-forged wheels and is available in nine elegant body colours and 3 interior color schemes (Coral Red, Agarwood Brown, and Amber Brown).
Inside, the cabin is filled with premium materials and advanced technology:
Multi-screen linkage: The center console is equipped with a 17.3-inch central touchscreen, a 13.2-inch full LCD instrument panel, and a 13.2-inch co-driver entertainment screen, while also equipped with an AR-HUD head-up display supporting a 50-inch projection area.
High-end audio: Equipped with the French premium audio brand Devialet.
AI Intelligent Cabin: The new car debuts with a new generation AI intelligent cabin, built-in with the strongest AI large model. The car is also equipped with multiple magnetic attachment interfaces for owners to expand various in-car accessories.
In terms of driving assistance, the Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition comes standard across the entire lineup with the advanced God's Eye 5.0 high-level intelligent driving system. Built on a full closed-loop end-to-end large model and enhanced with reinforcement learning capabilities, the system generates over 190 million kilometres of training data daily. This enables industry-leading assisted driving features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Autonomous Emergency Steering (AES).
It is also worth noting that Mandopop superstar Wang Leehom attended the launch event and became the official 500,000th Denza owner as well as the first owner of the Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition. Deliveries of the new model have already begun in China. Whether a right-hand-drive (RHD) version will eventually be introduced to markets like Malaysia remains highly anticipated.
