BYD has officially introduced its all-new electric sedan model, the BYD Seal 8, positioned as the flagship in the brand’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) lineup.

The Seal 8 continues BYD’s Ocean Series design language, first previewed by the Ocean-S concept car.
It features a clean, aerodynamic front fascia with a closed grille, slim LED headlights with wave-pattern details, and star-shaped ambient light elements in the front bumper air intakes. A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor supports its advanced intelligent driving system.

At the rear, the car adopts a sleek fastback silhouette with a coupe-like profile. The full-width taillights and flowing body lines are inspired by the brand’s “ocean aesthetic” design theme.

BYD Seal 8 is a full-size electric sedan with the following measurements:

Length: 5,150 mm

Width: 1,999 mm

Height: 1,505 mm

Wheelbase: 3,030 mm

Built on BYD’s 800V high-voltage electric platform and equipped with the second-generation Blade Battery, the Seal 8 targets a maximum cruising range of over 1,000 km on a full charge.

It supports megawatt-class ultra-fast charging, adding approximately 400 km of range in just 5 minutes.
The all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant delivers over 480 kW (644 hp), enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in under 5 seconds.

The flagship sedan comes with premium chassis technologies:

Rear-wheel steering for improved cornering agility

DiSus-A intelligent body control system for enhanced stability and ride comfort

God’s Eye B (DiPilot 300) advanced intelligent driving assistance system

BYD confirmed the Seal 8 is scheduled to launch in the second half of this year.

It was first announced in December 2025 as part of BYD’s Ocean 8 Dual Flagship series, alongside the Sealion 8 SUV. Both models are set for an official debut in Q1 2026 before a phased global rollout, including key right-hand-drive markets like Malaysia.
