Mitsubishi Triton Championship Edition Launches in Malaysia: Limited Units, Exclusive Features

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) is set to introduce the new Mitsubishi Triton Championship Edition on 11 March, a special limited-run pick-up truck launched to celebrate the brand’s victory in the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) 2025.

Based on the existing Triton lineup, two variants of this championship edition will hit local showrooms next week, namely the Triton Athlete Championship Edition and the Triton AT Premium Championship Edition, both boasting exclusive styling and equipment not available on standard Triton models, making them a unique offering for Malaysian pick-up enthusiasts who value both performance and exclusivity.

The Triton Athlete Championship Edition is limited to just 150 units and priced at RM169,980 (on-the-road, without insurance), available exclusively in a Jet Black Mica exterior shade. Powered by a 2.4 litre Hyperpower 4N16 turbodiesel engine that delivers 204 PS and 470 Nm of torque, this variant comes with distinctive AXCR championship body decals and all-terrain tyres—upgrades that not only enhance its visual appeal but also improve performance across different terrains. Inside, it gets a 9-inch infotainment system (an upgrade from the standard 7-inch unit) for better connectivity, an all-round monitor system to boost driving safety and visibility, as well as front headrests featuring the AXCR champions logo to commemorate the brand’s rally victory.

Meanwhile, the Triton AT Premium Championship Edition is limited to 120 units, priced at RM155,980 (on-the-road, without insurance) and offered solely in a White Diamond exterior. It is equipped with 18-inch black sports rims, a styling bar, front lower bumper garnish and distinctive body decals for a sportier look, along with AXCR logo headrest covers to match the Athlete variant’s commemorative touches. Under the hood, it features the same 2.4 litre turbodiesel engine as the Athlete variant but tuned to produce 184 PS and 430 Nm of torque, balancing performance with everyday usability.

In conjunction with the launch of these two limited-edition models, MMM is offering a special gift for customers who book either variant: an exclusive key fob case cover and a motorsports sticker pack, adding extra value for those who secure one of these highly sought-after pick-up trucks.
