On 9 March 2026, Proton officially released a teaser confirming that the 2026 X90 facelift will make its debut via a social media livestream on 11 March at 18:20. The full brochure and specifications of the new model have also been leaked ahead of time. This marks the first facelift for the X90 since its launch in May 2023.

Key Powertrain Update

The model receives an all-new powertrain, featuring the i-GT 1.5TD four-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. It produces 181PS maximum power and 290Nm peak torque, with power sent to the front wheels. The previous 1.5L three-cylinder turbo with 48V mild hybrid system has been discontinued.

Simplified Line-up & Revised Naming

The variant line-up is reduced from four to three versions, with updated naming:

- 1.5TD Lite

- 1.5TD Prime

- 1.5TD Prime X

Standard Equipment Across All Variants (Lite)

- LED headlamps with DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, rear multi-link suspension

- 12.3-inch central infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto

- Leather seats, 7 USB ports, 6 airbags, reverse sensors

Additional Features for Mid & Top Variants

Prime (added features):

Automatic headlamps & wipers, welcome lights, 10.3-inch full digital instrument cluster, 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, 360° panoramic camera with 180° transparent chassis, tyre pressure monitoring system, front parking sensors

Prime X (top variant):

Nappa leather seats, driver power lumbar support, 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat (boss button), front and second-row seat ventilation, second-row individual seats, ergonomic headrests, factory front driving recorder

Exterior & Interior

Exterior: Overall design unchanged. Five colour options: black, blue, silver, white, grey.

Interior: All-black dashboard, seats and door trims across the range. Beige interior available exclusively for the top variant.
