In March 2026, Xpeng Motors officially launched the G6 Super REEV in China, with an official guide price of 186,800 RMB (approximately RM 107,000).

The G6 Super REEV features “Intelligent Electric Drive Without Range Anxiety” as its core selling point.
Powertrain Structure: 1.5T four-cylinder range extender (power generation only) + rear 297PS electric motor. The pure electric driving experience is close to that of a pure EV, similar to Nissan e-Power but supports external charging.
Range Performance: CLTC pure electric range 430 km, combined range 1704 km (55.8kWh LFP battery + 60L fuel tank), completely eliminating concerns for long-distance travel.
Charging Efficiency: 800V high-voltage platform + 5C ultra-fast charging, 314 km range replenished in 12 minutes, faster than comparable PHEVs.
Intelligent Features: Second-generation VLA AI system, 130km/h full-speed AEB, AES emergency avoidance. Equipment is the same as the pure electric version (15.6-inch central control screen, ventilated seats, etc.)

Suitable for Malaysian Driving Scenarios: City Commute + Interstate Long Distance
Malaysian consumers often have interstate travel needs such as KL-Penang, KL-Johor, while city congestion is common. The G6 REEV is perfectly matched to both conditions.
City Commute: 430 km pure electric range can cover one week of commuting (average daily commute in Malaysia is about 50 km).
Interstate Long Distance: 1704 km combined range requires no frequent refueling or charging. Dual refueling + fast charging mode adapts to the current charging infrastructure in Malaysia.
Technical Advantage: The range extender does not directly drive the wheels, avoiding power hesitation of traditional PHEVs at high speed when low on battery, with a driving feel closer to pure EVs.
Not Affected by the Cancellation of EV Import Duty Exemption(Current pure electric G6 is imported as CBU; costs will be lower after local production in the future)

Xpeng has signed an agreement with Malaysia’s EPMB Group. The local production project will start in 2026, mainly serving the right-hand-drive ASEAN market. After the plant starts operation, the G6 series is expected to be locally assembled (CKD), and prices may drop further.
Xpeng ranked among the top six in pure EV sales in Malaysia in 2025. The X9 became the best-selling premium MPV, and brand recognition continues to rise.
If the G6 REEV is introduced, it will fill the gap in the smart PHEV market priced from RM 100,000 to RM 150,000 and complement the existing pure electric version.

Current prices of the pure electric G6 (CBU import) distributed by Bermaz Xpeng Sdn Bhd are as follows:
G6 RWD Standard: RM 158,888
G6 RWD Long Range: RM 178,888
G6 AWD Performance: RM 189,888
G6 AWD Black Edition: RM 193,888

The launch of Xpeng G6 REEV not only enriches the G6 product line but also provides solutions to the core pain points of the Malaysian market: less range anxiety than pure EVs, smarter and more fuel-efficient than traditional PHEVs.
Although there is no overseas launch plan yet, combined with Xpeng’s local production layout and the growth trend of Malaysia’s new energy vehicle market (EV sales increased by 200% year-on-year in 2024), the possibility of introducing this model in the future is extremely high.
For Malaysian consumers with a budget of RM 100,000–150,000 who pursue long range, low running costs and high-end intelligent features, the G6 REEV is worth keeping an eye on. It may become a game-changer in the local PHEV market.
