Auto China 2026: BMW Unveils 16 New Models, Neue Klasse iX3 Takes Center Stage

BMW has officially revealed its massive lineup for the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, featuring a total of 16 new models across the BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad brands. The highlight of the event is four world premieres, which are set to shape the future direction of BMW's electrification strategy.

For the Malaysian market, all eyes are on BMW's Neue Klasse (New Class) models. These next-generation electric vehicles will play a decisive role in shaping the specifications, design, and technology of future BMW EVs that eventually reach Malaysian shores.

World Premiere: All-New BMW iX3 (Long Wheelbase)

The star of the show is undoubtedly the all-new Neue Klasse BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase.

Futuristic Design: The all-new BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase features a 3D illuminated kidney grille and "Digital Angel Wings" LED light signatures, reimagining BMW's classic design language for the electric era.

Generous Space: The LWB version measures 4,885 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,005 mm — an increase of 108 mm compared to the standard model. This additional length is dedicated entirely to rear-seat passengers, delivering more legroom and comfort — a feature highly valued by premium SUV buyers in Malaysia.

Next-Gen Performance: Built on an 800V architecture and equipped with BMW's 6th-generation eDrive technology, the new iX3 boasts a CLTC range of over 900 km. In real-world testing, it has even achieved more than 1,000 km on a single charge.

Embodying the Neue Klasse philosophy, the all-new BMW i3 Long Wheelbase fuses signature BMW driving dynamics with state-of-the-art AI technology, aiming to redefine the driver-centric intelligent EV experience in its segment.

Flagship Luxury: New BMW 7 Series & i7

BMW's flagship sedans, the 7 Series and i7, have received a refreshed design. The bold signature kidney grille and distinctive split-headlight arrangement are retained, while the interior now features the latest Panoramic iDrive cockpit system for a more advanced and luxurious driving experience.

Special Editions & Concepts

Performance enthusiasts can look forward to the BMW Speedtop Concept (limited to 70 units globally) and the M3 Touring 40th Anniversary Edition, marking four decades of the iconic performance wagon.
