MINI 1965 Victory Edition Debuts in Malaysia: A JCW E Tribute to Monte Carlo Rally Glory, Priced from RM231k

MINI Malaysia has officially launched the MINI 1965 Victory Edition, a special model that pays heartfelt tribute to the brand's legendary motorsport heritage. This limited edition celebrates the iconic Mini Cooper S driven by Finnish racer Timo Mäkinen and his co-driver Paul Easter, which achieved a historic and against-all-odds victory at the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally.

Beneath the nostalgic livery, the MINI 1965 Victory Edition is based on the high-performance MINI John Cooper Works E (J01).

Powertrain: Front-mounted electric motor delivering 258 PS (190 kW) and 350 Nm of torque.

Performance: 0-100 km/h  acceleration in 5.9 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h. 

Battery & Range: Equipped with a 54.2 kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of up to 371 km.

Charging: Supports 11 kW AC charging (0–100% in 5 hours 15 minutes) and 95 kW DC fast charging (10–80% in 30 minutes).

Design Highlights 

The Victory Edition features several exclusive aesthetic details.

Chili Red Paint: Finished in striking Chili Red, complemented by a bold white racing stripe running from the bonnet to the boot, along with a matching white hardtop and sunroof.

Racing Number "52": Large white racing decals prominently displayed on both doors, paying homage to the legendary 1965 winning car.

Exclusive Wheels: 18-inch JCW Mastery Spoke wheels in black. 

C-Pillar Decals: Subtle "1965" heritage stickers on the C-pillars, adding a refined nod to its motorsport legacy.

Commemorative Door Sills: Door sills engraved with historic details from the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally victory.

Heritage Branding: "1965" lettering on the steering wheel and center console.

Pricing in Malaysia 

The MINI 1965 Victory Edition is priced at RM230,888 (OTR without insurance). For peace of mind, the MINI Service and Repair Inclusive (MSRI) package is available for an additional RM6,300, bringing the total on-the-road price to RM237,188. This package extends warranty and service coverage to four years. This represents a premium of approximately RM12,000 over the standard MINI John Cooper Works E model.
