Chery Automobile officially announced the opening of its European Operations Center and Spain R&D Institute on April 8. This milestone marks Chery's first overseas regional operations hub in Europe. The new center will serve as a central platform for its European business, integrating key functions such as finance, supply chain coordination, regulatory compliance, and public affairs.

Strategic Hub: The European Operations Center will streamline Chery's operations across the region and ensure full alignment with local standards and requirements.
R&D Focus: The Spain R&D Institute will concentrate on electrification, smart mobility, and sustainable development technologies, with a strong emphasis on meeting European environmental and data protection regulations.
Sales Growth: Chery is currently active in 18 European countries. In the first two months of 2026, sales in the UK and EU markets reached 39,000 units, representing a 200% year-on-year increase. NEV exports during the same period stood at 11,500 units.

The OMODA and JAECOO brands, which are gaining strong traction in Malaysia, are also performing impressively in Europe. Since entering the Spanish market in 2024, the two brands have achieved combined sales of over 40,000 units.
In addition, Chery's partnership with EV MOTORS to revive the Spanish brand EBRO will see local assembly take place at the Zona Franca plant in Barcelona. This strategy mirrors Chery's successful CKD operations in Malaysia.

With over 19 million global users — including 6.23 million overseas customers — Chery continues to expand its footprint across more than 130 countries worldwide. The strengthening of its European R&D capabilities indicates that future global models arriving in Malaysia are likely to feature even higher levels of technology, refinement, and safety standards.
