Performance & Tech Maxed Out! Leapmotor Lafa5 Ultra Set for Official Launch at Beijing Auto Show on April 24

Malaysian car enthusiasts, eyes peeled! Leapmotor Lafa5 Ultra teased ahead of Beijing Auto Show debut. Following its local debut under the Stellantis group, Leapmotor has officially teased its latest high-performance model — the Leapmotor Lafa5 Ultra. This flagship variant is scheduled to make its grand debut on April 24 at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show.

The "Ultra" badge is far from just a name. It brings an aggressive aerodynamic kit, enhanced power output, and top-tier autonomous driving hardware, signalling a serious performance-oriented leap for the brand.

Aggressive "Blacked-Out" Aesthetics

The Lafa5 Ultra adopts a more aggressive and lowered stance, enhanced by a dedicated aerodynamic sports kit that includes a front splitter, side skirts, rear wing, and diffuser. The entire vehicle receives a sophisticated gunmetal blacked-out treatment. This includes darkened logos, 19-inch gunmetal alloy wheels, and matte grey brake calipers, giving the Lafa5 Ultra a stealthy and aggressive appearance. It also retains the signature frameless doors, further emphasising its sporty coupe-like silhouette.

Premium Sport Interior

The cabin of the Lafa5 Ultra is wrapped in "Wind-Chasing Grey" faux suede, creating a sporty yet luxurious atmosphere. Key highlights include ultra-exclusive sport seats with a segment-leading 8-point massage function, body-coloured patterned seatbelts, and aluminum scuff plates.

180kW Motor & Dual-Flagship Chips

Under the skin, the Lafa5 Ultra delivers serious performance.

Power: A high-output 180kW electric motor (approx. 245 PS) paired with a chassis tuned by a Sino-European engineering team.

Intelligence: The vehicle is powered by dual flagship chips — the SA8295 and 8650 — and equipped with LiDAR. This advanced setup enables high-level urban autonomous navigation (NAP) without reliance on high-definition maps.

Coming to Malaysia?

With Leapmotor already establishing a foothold in Malaysia through the C10, the Lafa5 (potentially known globally as the B05) is a strong candidate for local introduction. If the high-performance Ultra variant makes its way to Malaysia, it could become a rival to established models such as the BYD Seal and Tesla Model 3.
