Attention Nissan enthusiasts in Malaysia: Auto China 2026 will officially begin on April 24, featuring a major showcase from Nissan. Highlights include the world premiere of two New Energy SUV concepts and the showcase of the Nissan NX8, a high-performance 5-seater SUV that just hit the market earlier this month.

While official teaser images keep things mysterious, these two concepts signal Nissan's future direction.
Rugged Off-road SUV: Featuring a boxy, muscular silhouette, this model is expected to showcase the full potential of Nissan's e-4ORCE electric all-wheel-control technology.
Premium Urban SUV: Sporting Nissan's latest futuristic lighting signature, this model focuses on smart mobility and high-end aesthetics tailored for city dwellers.
The Nissan NX8 is the heavy hitter on the stand. Built on an 800V platform, the EV variant supports 5C ultra-fast charging, while the EREV version offers a staggering 1,450 km range. With a 2,917mm wheelbase, it features the Nissan AI Sofa 2.0, an onboard fridge, and a 15.6-inch display. If this reaches Malaysia, it would pose a serious threat to the premium SUV segment.

Nissan is also bringing the Formula E Gen3 EVO race car to the stage. Boasting a 0-100 km/h sprint of just 1.86 seconds, it serves as a high-speed laboratory for the electric powertrain technology that eventually trickles down to our daily drives.

Nissan's current strategy is "In China, for China, and for the World". The keyword here is "the World". As these R&D capabilities reach their peak, these models are poised to serve as blueprints for future global offerings. For the local Nissan distributor, these high-tech SUVs are undoubtedly on the radar for a potential Malaysian introduction.
