Lexus Australia has confirmed that the 8th-generation Lexus ES (codenamed Z10) will arrive in Q3 2026. This marks the long-awaited debut of the Right-Hand Drive (RHD) version of this luxury sedan.

Platform: Built on an enhanced GA-K platform with a wheelbase extended by 79 mm, the new ES offers more interior space.
Electric Powertrain
ES 350e (FWD): 224 PS with a CLTC range of up to 685 km
ES 500e (AWD): 343 PS, featuring DIRECT4 AWD technology.
Hybrid System: The hybrid powertrains remain available in both 2.0L and 2.5L variants, now with a new all-wheel-drive option.
Charging: It supports up to 150 kW DC fast charging, with a 10% to 80% charge achievable in approximately 30 minutes.

Launch Timeline: With the Australian launch scheduled for late 2026, Malaysia can expect official news or a launch by late 2026 or early 2027.
Pricing: As production at the Lexus Shanghai plant is set to begin in 2027, if Lexus Malaysia imports the electric ES models from China as Completely Built Units (CBU), the ES 350e could be priced very competitively thanks to more favourable tax structures.
Product Strength: The new electric ES comes standard with a 14-inch display and the Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+) 4.0 suite. It is well-positioned to challenge the BMW i5 and Mercedes-Benz EQE in Malaysia's luxury sedan segment.

The arrival of the electric ES will fill a gap in Lexus Malaysia's current EV lineup. If regional tax advantages are fully utilized, this electric Executive Sedan is definitely one to watch in the local market.
