BMW 7 Series LCI Global Debut: iDrive X Era & Panoramic Vision

On the eve of the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, the BMW 7 Series facelift officially made its global debut during the BMW Brand Night. As a Life Cycle Impulse (LCI), this revision focuses on a massive interior evolution, headlined by the introduction of the all-new iDrive X system.

Exterior: Subtle Refinements, Sustained Presence 

The facelifted 7 Series retains its bold, iconic large Kidney Grille and split-headlight design.

Crystal Headlight Upgrade: The 24 LEDs within the crystal daytime running lights now feature individual dynamic lighting, adding a heightened "sense of ceremony" to the welcome sequence.

Side and Rear Profile: The silhouette maintains its sharp, muscular lines, with the hallmark Hofmeister Kink on the C-pillar exuding authority. At the rear, the darkened LED taillights feature a more pronounced 3D internal structure, complemented by a revised, sportier rear diffuser.

Interior: iDrive X

The cabin undergoes a significant transformation with the production debut of BMW Panoramic Vision.

iDrive X System: Replacing the current iDrive 8.5/9, the new interface offers a cleaner aesthetic and lightning-fast response.

Panoramic Vision: This full-width information bar, projected along the lower edge of the windscreen, allows both driver and passenger to view navigation and media data across the entire width of the glass.

Immersive Experience: When paired with the BMW Interaction Bar, the cabin environment continues to set the benchmark for luxury in its class.

Market Outlook for Malaysia 

Currently, the 7 Series is offered in Malaysia as the 750e xDrive M Sport (PHEV) and the fully electric i7. We anticipate BMW Malaysia will introduce this LCI model as a CKD (locally assembled) unit by late 2026 or early 2027.
