BMW Debuts Next-Gen iX3 LWB: A Vision Neue Klasse Reality

At the BMW Brand Night on the eve of Auto China 2026, BMW officially premiered the long-wheelbase (LWB) version of the Next-Gen BMW iX3, the production version of the Vision Neue Klasse X. This model represents a paradigm shift for the marque, blending its iconic heritage with cutting-edge 800V electric architecture.

Unprecedented Rear Space 

The "L" in this iX3 signifies a major leap in spatial luxury. By stretching the wheelbase by 108 mm over the standard model, BMW has dedicated the additional volume entirely to the second row.

Dimensions: 4,885 mm (L) x 1,895 mm (W) x 1,635 mm (H)

Wheelbase: 3,005 mm

With a wheelbase exceeding the 3-meter mark, rear passengers are treated to legroom comparable to flagship luxury SUVs.

Neue Klasse Design Language 

The exterior moves away from the oversized grilles of recent years, opting for a 3D illuminated grille that pays homage to the legendary BMW 1500. 

"Digital Angel Wings": This lighting signature utilizes deep-effect LED structures for a futuristic presence.

Evolved Hofmeister Kink: The signature C-pillar now features "Mirror Light" technology — ultra-thin titanium oxide strips that appear reflective from the exterior while remaining transparent from the cabin.

Next-Gen 800V Powertrain 

Beneath the skin lies the 6th-generation BMW eDrive technology.

Architecture: A full-domain 800V high-voltage platform for rapid charging and efficiency.

Battery Tech: New cylindrical cells paired with an in-house energy management system.

Performance: A dual-motor setup delivering 116 kW (front) and 235 kW (rear). 

Range: An impressive CLTC range of over 900 km.
