At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, BYD officially pulled the wraps off the interior of its new flagship sedan from the Ocean series — the BYD Seal 08. Positioned above the current Seal model available in Malaysia, this production version of the Ocean-S concept showcases BYD's latest technological breakthroughs.

Flagship Cabin: "Serenity and Healing" Design

The Seal 08 interior adopts the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 philosophy, balancing refined luxury with minimalist technology.

Floating Infotainment Screen: Features a rotating display with slimmer bezels for a more immersive view.

Column Shifter: The gear selector has moved to the steering column, freeing up the center console for dual 50W wireless charging pads with cooling vents.

Chauffeur-Ready Rear Seats: As a flagship, it offers an executive-level rear experience with a climate control screen, "Boss" seat adjustment buttons, and integrated foldable tables.

Intelligence & Safety: Equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR, the Seal 08 supports the DiPilot 300 high-level intelligent driving suite.

Specifications & Performance

Built on a high-voltage architecture, the Seal 08 delivers class-leading performance.

Dimensions: At 5,150 mm in length with a 3,030 mm wheelbase, it boasts a larger footprint than a standard BMW 5 Series.

800V Architecture: Built on a high-voltage platform featuring 2nd-Gen Blade Batteries.

Extreme Charging: Supports Megawatt Flash Charging, capable of replenishing 400 km of range in just 5 minutes.

Driving Dynamics: Features Rear-Wheel Steering for enhanced maneuverability and the DiSus-A (Yun Nian-A) intelligent air suspension system.

Malaysian Outlook

Given BYD's strong presence in the Malaysian EV market, the Seal 08 is a prime candidate for future local introduction. If launched, it would likely compete in the RM280,000 - RM350,000 price bracket, offering a tech-heavy alternative to traditional luxury E-segment sedans.
