Fang Cheng Bao Debuts Its First-Ever Sedan at 2026 Beijing Auto Show: A 1,000hp Triple-Motor Performance Car

Building on the momentum of the rugged Bao 5, BYD's premium brand, Fang Cheng Bao, has officially pulled the wraps off its first-ever sedan, the Fang Cheng SL (Formula SL), at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show.

This debut marks the brand's strategic expansion into the sedan segment, showcasing BYD's latest advancements in high-performance EV technology. The S series is expected to form a comprehensive lineup, eventually consisting of a coupe (S), a standard sedan (SL), and a shooting brake variant (S GT).

Sporty Low-Slung Aesthetics

The SL moves away from the brand's signature boxy off-roader DNA, opting for an aerodynamic and elegant silhouette.

Fastback Silhouette: A sleek sloping roofline paired with a low-slung stance for a dynamic profile.

Muscular Hood: Two prominent character lines on the front hood hint at the immense power underneath.

Advanced Tech Integration: A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor indicates readiness for high-level intelligent driving capabilities.

Sleek Details: Features semi-hidden door handles and a rear "ducktail" spoiler with integrated curved taillights.

Monster Performance: 1,000hp with Triple Motors

Under the skin, the SL is a true performance beast featuring BYD's top-tier technical architecture.

Triple-Motor Drive: Delivers a combined output of nearly 1,000 hp, promising blistering acceleration and precision torque vectoring.

Next-Gen Blade Battery: Equipped with BYD's 2nd-gen Blade Battery, supporting ultra-fast charging technology to minimize downtime.

DiSus-M System: Utilizes an intelligent magneto-rheological body control system, ensuring a perfect balance between track-ready handling and executive-level comfort.

Editor's Take: Coming to Malaysia?

While currently targeted at the Chinese market, the potential for Fang Cheng Bao to enter Southeast Asia remains high, given BYD's established leading position in Malaysia. If a right-hand drive (RHD) version becomes a reality, it would stand as a formidable rival to the Tesla Model 3 Performance and Zeekr 007.
