At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, XPENG officially debuted its new flagship SUV, the XPENG GX. Pre-sales have commenced in China with a starting price of CNY 399,800 (approx. RM263,780).
As a significant addition to XPENG's premium portfolio, the GX offers both Battery Electric (BEV) and Extended Range (EREV) powertrains. Given XPENG's active expansion in Malaysia, the GX stands as a strong candidate to join the local line-up alongside the G6.

The XPENG GX adopts the brand's latest design language, combining minimalism with a commanding presence.
Front Profile: Features the signature "Robot Face" lighting signature, integrated with a more pronounced lower bumper for enhanced road presence.
Proportions: At 5,265 mm in length with a 3,115 mm wheelbase, the GX is a significant "behemoth", positioning it as a direct rival to the KIA EV9.
Aerodynamics: Sleek body lines, a floating roofline, and flush-fitting door handles contribute to its clean, futuristic silhouette.

The interior is designed as a showcase for XPENG's "AI Luxury" philosophy, prioritizing intelligence and passenger comfort.
Tech: Equipped with a 17.3-inch 3K ultra-slim bezel screen running the AI Tianji OS. Notably, it features a steer-by-wire system, allowing the steering wheel to extend up to 135 mm electrically.
Comfort: Configured as a 2+2+2 six-seater, featuring second-row independent zero-gravity seats. The acoustic experience is handled by a 33-speaker AI Sound Max system.

EREV Variant: Combines a 1.5T generator with dual motors, delivering a pure electric range of 320 km and a total combined range exceeding 1,500 km.
BEV Variant: Built on a dedicated 800V high-voltage platform supporting 5C supercharging. The dual-motor setup produces 430 kW (approx. 585 PS), offering a maximum range of 750 km (CLTC).

Should the XPENG GX make its way to Malaysia, it is expected to sit in the RM350,000 - RM450,000 price bracket. This would position it as a tech-centric alternative to established large SUVs. Given the current trend toward high-capacity EVs, the GX's combination of scale and intelligent driving tech could provide a serious challenge to the KIA EV9.
