Geely Partners with AutoWallis to Enter the Austrian Market

Geely Auto is accelerating its global footprint! Recently, Geely officially signed a partnership agreement with AutoWallis, a leading automotive distributor in Central and Eastern Europe, marking the brand's formal entry into the Austrian market.

Under this agreement, AutoWallis will serve as the official importer and distributor for Geely in Austria. The first batch of vehicles is expected to arrive in local showrooms by the second quarter of 2026.

A Diversified Strategy: The All-Electric E5 and Hybrid Starray

Geely's entry into Austria is a calculated move, leveraging its core technological "vanguard" models. The initial lineup targets both the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) segments.

Geely E5 (known globally as EX5): A strategic global electric SUV built on the GEA architecture. This model is well-known to Malaysian readers as the technical foundation for the Proton e.MAS 7, Proton's first-ever electric vehicle.

Geely Starray EM-i: Better known as the Boyue L, the variant heading to Austria features Geely's next-generation NordThor EM-i super hybrid technology. This powertrain prioritizes ultra-long range and class-leading fuel efficiency, positioning it as a direct challenger to established European hybrid rivals.

Deepening the European Footprint

Following its successful entry into Hungary, Austria serves as a critical strategic pivot for Geely's expansion into Central Europe. AutoWallis has committed to establishing a comprehensive sales and aftersales network across the country, ensuring a high-standard ownership experience tailored to European expectations.

Geely views the Austrian debut as a major milestone in its European trajectory.
