Following a surprise preview in March, the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek is now officially on sale in Malaysia. As the successor to the popular Subaru XV, the third-generation model has adopted the "Crosstrek" nameplate globally, signalling a stronger shift toward a more adventurous and capable character.

The all-new Crosstrek is offered in a single high-spec variant — the 2.0i-S EyeSight. Fully imported (CBU) from Japan, it carries an on-the-road price of RM190,788 (excluding insurance).
The Crosstrek continues to utilise Subaru's Global Platform (SGP), but now benefits from a 10% increase in chassis rigidity compared to the previous XV. This enhanced stiffness has allowed engineers to fit softer spring rates, resulting in improved ride comfort and better damping while retaining Subaru's renowned sharp handling dynamics.
Dimensions:

The Crosstrek retains the iconic silhouette of the XV but now features more aggressive detailing. Highlights include a larger hexagonal grille, extensive black cladding, and new aerodynamic air outlets on the front wheel arches.

Inside, the highlight is an 11.6-inch portrait touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The overall layout draws inspiration from the latest WRX, delivering noticeably higher build quality and a more premium feel.

Under the hood sits Subaru's familiar FB20 2.0-litre naturally aspirated Boxer engine:
The combination continues to offer excellent traction, making the Crosstrek highly capable in flash floods, light off-roading, or weekend camping trips.

Malaysian buyers get the latest EyeSight 4.0 system, which includes a triple-camera setup with a new wide-angle monocular camera for better detection of pedestrians and cyclists at intersections.
The comprehensive suite includes Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centring, Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure Prevention, Blind Spot Detection, and more. Passive safety is strengthened with 8 airbags, including a new front passenger seat cushion airbag.

Available Colours: 8 options, including the eye-catching Sand Dune Pearl and Citron Yellow Pearl. Warranty: 5 years / 100,000 km.
Priced at RM190,788, the Crosstrek competes directly with the Honda HR-V RS, Mazda CX-30, and Toyota Corolla Cross. While it is positioned slightly higher than some CKD rivals, it stands out with its Japan-made quality, full-time AWD, and the highly regarded EyeSight 4.0 safety technology.
For Malaysian buyers who prioritise driving confidence, all-weather stability, and a vehicle that can handle more than just city roads, the new Crosstrek remains a compelling and unique choice.
