GWM Reports Strong April 2026 Sales: Overseas Markets Surge 56.9%, Malaysia Gains Momentum

As competition in the global automotive industry intensifies, Great Wall Motor (GWM) has released its production and sales figures for April 2026. The company continued to deliver steady growth, with global sales reaching 106,312 units, representing a 6.25% increase compared to the same period last year.

Overseas Sales Surge, Malaysia Plays a Key Role

A standout highlight for Malaysian consumers is GWM's explosive overseas performance. In April, the company sold 50,475 units overseas — a remarkable 56.93% year-on-year surge. Overseas sales now account for 47.48% of GWM's total volume, marking a new record high.

This strong performance reflects the early success of GWM's strategic push in key Southeast Asian markets, including Malaysia. From January to April 2026, GWM's cumulative global sales reached 375,416 units, up 5.20% year-on-year.

New Energy Vehicles Continue to Gain Traction

GWM is also making solid progress in the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) segment. In April, NEV sales totalled 26,898 units, bringing the four-month cumulative total to 79,528 units.
